Have a band press kit

A press kit is a sales pitch for your band or music project to any potential venue or agent. A press kit allows you to inform venues, agents and promotors who you are, what you do, where you have played and what you sound like.

The press kit can be as simple or as complex as you like but there are certain things you need to include in any mail out;

  • Contact information
  • Biography - what music you play, your influences, your experience and a typical set list
  • Photo’s
  • Demo
  • Press cuttings - Only include good reviews, if you don’t have any don’t worry they will come.

Update your press kit regularly, you do not want to be sending out any material which is out of date.
